CRYPTA is a Brazilian female Death Metal band, officially founded in May 2019 by Fernanda
Lira (bass and vocals) and Luana Dametto (drums). Soon after, they signed a contract with
the renowned Austrian label Napalm Records, in addition to inking a booking deal with
Napalm Events.

Initially, the project emerged as a parallel space for both to freely explore their compositions
within the universe of death metal. Shortly thereafter, in June of the same year, Dutch
guitarist Sonia Anubis was invited to join the line-up, starting the writing process of the
group's first songs.

In April 2020, the band called on Brazilian guitarist Tainá Bergamaschi, who completed the
line-up, consolidating CRYPTA as a quartet. The band's official presentation to the public
took place in May 2020.

In January 2021, the band got together in São Paulo to record their first full-length album.
Entitled “Echoes of the Soul”, the album was recorded in just three weeks by Otávio Rissato,
with production by Thiago Vakka, mixing by Arthur Rizk and mastering by Jens Bogren, at
the prestigious Fascination Street Studio. The cover art was painted by illustrator Wes
Benscoter.
Simultaneously, the band recorded their first music video, “From The Ashes” (now with over
1.5 million views), directed by filmmaker André Gustavo (Uncanny Filmes / 02 Filmes), with
cinematography by Pepe Mendes.

Released worldwide on June 11, 2021, “Echoes of the Soul” was distributed by Napalm
Records and licensed by distributors such as Dynamo Records (Brazil and Argentina),
Soyuz Music (Russia) and Ward Records (Japan). With a duration of just over 40 minutes,
the album reached #55 on the Offizielle Top 100 (Germany) and #34 on the Schweizer
Hitparade (Switzerland) charts, highlighting the band on the international scene.

In the midst of preparation for the first tour, Crypta's lineup underwent a change with the
departure of Sonia Anubis, replaced by Jessica di Falchi.

The second album, “Shades of Sorrow”, was released on August 4, 2023, again by Napalm
Records, with licensing by Shinigami Records (Brazil), Soyuz Music (Russia) and Chaos
Reigns/Ward Records (Japan). With 13 tracks and over 50 minutes in length, the album
achieved significant positions on international charts: #23 on the Offizielle Top 100
(Germany), #43 on the Schweizer Hitparade (Switzerland) and #52 on Ö3 Austria (Austria),
in addition to 7 American charts, 6 Canadian, and 2 British charts..
In addition, “Shades of Sorrow” was among the 50 best albums of 2023 according to APCA
– Associação Paulista dos Críticos de Arte.

The release also reached #71 on Billboard's Top Current Album Sales, which measures
organic sales of physical and digital albums in the United States. In the same week, the
band also appeared on Billboard's “Emerging Artists” chart, which lists emerging artists with
the highest sales and streaming, reaching #41. With around 1,000 units sold in the first
week, the feat placed Crypta among the few Brazilian bands to enter the Billboard charts,
alongside bands such as Sepultura.

With a trajectory marked by intensity and recognition, CRYPTA has performed extensively as
a headliner and as a guest for bands such as Morbid Angel, Carcass, Belphegor, Hatebreed,
Aborted, visiting countries in Latin America, the United States, Canada and Europe. They
have also been invited to open shows for bands such as Ghost and Arch Enemy and
Behemoth.

Their festival resume includes the biggest stages in metal worldwide: Rock in Rio (Brazil),
Wacken Open Air (Germany), Summer Breeze (Brazil and Germany), Primavera Sound
(Spain), Bloodstock Open Air (England), Brutal Assault (Czech Republic), Obscene Extreme
(Czech Republic), Rock al Parque (Colombia), among many others.

In 2025, Crypta will continue as an official trio, with guest guitarists on tour. New tours have
already been confirmed for Latin America, Europe, the United States, Canada and Brazil. At
the same time, the band is preparing to record their third studio album, scheduled for release
in mid-2026.
