Kill The Lights
Kill The Lights was founded in October 2011 by Lead Singer Sean Glennon, 21, and Drummer Lee Pratt, 21. The band originally consisted of 3 members, Sean, Lee and guitarist Chase Brookman. The band rehearsed for a week together, before bringing on instrumentalist AJ "Brown Magic" Rodriguez, 21, as a bassist for the band. During the week of rehearsing the music, Chase missed a few practices, forcing AJ to take a stab at the guitar riffs written by Chase. Chase ended up leaving the band, forcing AJ to rewrite all of the guitar parts, including new songs like "Little Red Dress", "Better Than The Rain" and "Dirty Talk" and we week later, played their first show at The Plantation as a Rock Trio without a bassist, blowing the doors off the building. In November 2011, AJ brought forth bassist Daniel Yoder, 21, to fill in the missing lows the band needed. The band began playing more shows, including The Nile Underground, The Rogue Bar and 910 Live with artists such as Burn Halo. Every show gathered rave reviews from various concert goers describing the band as "The best band to perform throughout the night."
In January 2012, the band underwent unfortunate tragedy as their practice room at The Plantation/Cosmic Soup Recording was raided by an unknown (still to this day unknown) thief who stole 80% of their gear and equipment including PA Systems, Guitars, Amps and Recording Equipment. The band was forced to take a 2 month break, as police reports were filed and went nowhere. The band ended up buying new equipment, and quickly began rehearsing again. Unfortunately, bassist Daniel Yoder was unable to rejoin the band due to military reasons, and AJ quickly brought forth new and current bassist "Black" Brandon Powell, 21. Brandon quickly learned the bass riffs, and the band began rehearsing, and writing new music including "Final Stand". Brandon's friend Josh Pierce, 30, sat in 2 band practices, giving pointers and critique on the band, which ultimately ended in Josh joining as rhythm guitarist, filling in the rest of the music, thus making Kill The Lights complete and full in sound. The band began writing and rehearsing new music, and playing their first show as the complete Kill The Lights band on April 6, 2012 at Martini Ranch.
